Job Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes, fittings, fixtures, and equipment associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitary systems in residential and commercial structures. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and State Codes.

Essential Functions and Duties (including but not limited to)
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams in order to execute jobs and tasks to specifications
- Installs pipes, fittings, fixtures, and equipment for water, gas, steam, air or other liquids
- Installs supports for pipes, equipment and fixture prior to installation
- Assembles fittings and valves for installation
- Assembles length of pipes, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing materials and equipment as needed for residential and commercial structures
- Uses saws, torches, pipe cutters, pipe threaders, drills, hand tools, etc. as necessary
- Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters, sump pumps, lift stations, etc.
- Coordinates with General Contractors, Owners, Inspectors, Architects, Engineers, and other tradesman in the installing and repairing of plumbing systems
- Tests plumbing systems for leaks and defects and makes sure they are up to code and compliance
- Trouble shoots problem and identifies appropriate tools, materials, and necessary means for repair
- Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, Code, Design, and intended uses of
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with Health and Safety standards, Plumbing, Building, and local codes
- Turn in all required paperwork, reports, permits and inspections in a timely manner
- Performs routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
- Prepares bids and schedules and oversees other workers, such as other journeyman, apprentices and helpers
- Consults with clients to identify and address any other concerns related to their water, sanitary, and HVAC systems
Education
- High School Diploma or Graduation Equivalency Diploma
- Licensed to practice as a Journeyman Plumber in the state where you will be working
Skills and Experience
Two or more years related experience and/or training
Maintain state driver’s license
Maintain current State Plumbing license
Maintain current City Plumbing license
Ability to work independently and be able to perform tasks using problem-solving skills
Exhibit sound judgment, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
