What We Offer

Training for people at all levels of experience in the field, developing them into Journeymen Commercial HVAC Techs or Journeyman Plumbers

About the Program

  • Registered Plumbing and HVAC Apprenticeship Program in Louisiana and Texas
  • 4 years of Classroom Participation with 8,000 hours of on the job learning
  • Credit for previous experience can be given
  • Guaranteed raises upon level completion
  • Students attend classes virtually from across our service area in LA, AR, TX, and MS
  • Frequent hands-on activities and field trips correspond with classroom topics
  • Instructors are current Journeyman, Professional Engineers, or industry experts

Educate

  • Entry-level students start with Core, which covers safety, professionalism, and tools
  • In HVAC, we start with the refrigeration cycle and end with advanced Chiller, Boiler, and System Design classes.
  • In Plumbing, we start with piping and fittings and prepare you to pass the state Journeyman Plumber Exam.

Train

  • Apprentices are paired with mentors to provide guidance and monitor field experiences
  • In-person labs and supervised field instruction solidify classroom concepts

Advance

  • Upon successful completion of a level, apprentices are guaranteed scaled raises

How to Join the Program

The annual application window for our Apprenticeship Program is open from March 1 through June 30 each year for admittance into classes beginning in September.

Complete the application linked below to be considered for admission to Storer Institute beginning in September of 2026.

This is an educational opportunity. If selected, all books, materials, and instruction are provided at no cost to the Apprentice. Classroom participants will also receive priority consideration for future job openings within our organization.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, drug-free, hold a high school diploma or equivalency, and possess a valid driver’s license. Only applicants who meet these minimum eligibility requirements and submit their application during the open window will be considered.

This application window will close on June 30, 2026. We will conduct phone screenings to identify applicants selected to attend an Open House in July. Student offers will be made following the Open House.
